Kriegsmarine SD M35 Combat Helmet
Kriegsmarine Single-decal M35 Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M35). The stamped sheet steel construction M35 helmet retains most of its early apple-green paint, the paint is showing scratches and normal traces of usage. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is a M31 leather liner with aluminum ring, the leather is still very supple and nicely size '56' marked, a name-tag with the soldier's name 'Biefer' is sewn into the liner, traces of a previous name-tag and a removed written name are visible as well, so this helmet might have been re-issued to another soldier. The shell is marked with maker and size 'ET64' which indicates production by the company 'Eisen-und Hüttenwerke, AG' in Thale/Harz. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number '4047'. A dome-stamp is visible inside the helmet shell. The Kriegsmarine eagle decal is in good condition and showing some normal damage and scratches caused by usage, the decals is present for about 80%. The national tricolor decal has been removed per regulations. The helmet is complete with its original early chinstrap with aluminum buckle. Nice and honest early Kriegsmarine helmet in good untouched condition, these are hard to find in good condition nowadays!
