Description

Infantry Assault Badge in Silver (Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber). The Infantry Assault Badge in silver was introduced on 20 December 1939 by Generaloberst 'Walther von Brauchitsch', for award to all ranks of non-motorized, Infantry and Mountain Infantry units who participated in three different assaults on three different days. The badge is executed in 'Zink' with a fair amount of its original silverish finish remaining. The pin and catch are complete and functional, the catch however has been resoldered once, see photos. The badge is nicely maker marked with 'W.H.' indicating production by the company of 'Wilhelm Hobacher' in Wien (Vienna). Nice original badge in good used condition!
