Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse). On 1 September 1939 Hitler reinstituted the Iron Cross (First time in 1813). The 2nd class cross was for award to personnel who performed a single act of bravery in combat. The cross has a three piece construction with an iron core, it just shows some minor wear and great detail overall, the cross shows a slightly darker age-patina. The cross is nicely maker marked 'L/11' indicating production by the company of 'Wilhelm Deumer' from Lüdenscheid. The cross comes with its original smaller type 18cms long sized ribbon as found together. Nice original LDO marked cross in good condition!
