Kriegsmarine Belt Set & Buckle on leather tab
Kriegsmarine EM/NCO's Belt & Buckle (Koppel und Koppelschloß mit Lederwiderhalt). The Kriegsmarine belt buckle was officially introduced on 4 August 1936, to replace the previously worn 'Reichsmarine' buckle. The Kriegsmarine buckle was identical in design to the Army EM/NCO’s belt buckle, but with gilt colored finish. Nice gilt finished aluminum buckle, the buckle is nicely maker marked with 'R.S.& S.' indicating production by the company of 'Richard Sieper & Söhne' from Lüdenscheid. The buckle shows normal wear and scratching and still retains most of its golden finish. The buckle is complete with its original matching leather tab which is also maker marked by the company of 'Richard Sieper & Söhne', based in Lüdenscheid and dated 1938. There is also a nice Kriegsmarine approval stamp. The buckle is complete with its original 110cms long sized leather belt as found together. The belt is nicely maker marked and matching 1938 dated, the belt is showing a nice Kriegsmarine acceptance marking. Attached to the belt is a nice k98 bayonet frog in matching leathe, maker marked by 'Franz Brehme' from Walsrode and looks 1938 dated as well, the bayonet frog is also marked with a Kriegsmarine acceptance marking. This set was taken as a souvernir by a US GI at the end of World War 2. This is the first such complete matching naval acceptance marked belt set I've seen and is most certainly extremely rare and hard to find and will be a highlight in any Kriegsmarine collection. Stunning original set in very good condition!
