Luftschutz M38 Gladiator Helmet

Description

Luftschutz M38 Gladiator Helmet with Decal (Stahlhelm M38). The RLB (Reichsluftschutzbund) was an official national organization tasked with all aspects of civil air raid defence. On 26 September 1938 a specific helmet for RLB (Reichsluftschutzbund) personnel was introduced that incorporated a raised horizontal bead between the visors and crown. These helmets were commonly called the "Gladiator" style helmet. This is a three piece M38 type Luftschutz helmet, the helmet is in good condition, complete with liner and chinstrap. The helmet is having an leather type liner, the liner is in good condition, see photos. The helmet retains most of its blue-grey paint, the Luftschutz decal is placed on front and is present for about 99%. There is some light-blue residu on top of the helmet, I did not try to clean it, see photos. The reverse interior neck guard apron is nicely marked 'RL2 39/42' indicating production in 1939. The helmet is complete with its original chinstrap. Nice original Luftschutz helmet in good condition!
