Dutch LBD reissued M16 Combat Helmet (Stalen Helm Model 16A). The LBD was the Dutch Civil air-raid protection services. Military helmets were re-issued for air-raid purposes. This is a Dutch stamped sheet steel construction M16 helmet which has been re-issued within the LBD. The helmet has been repainted in LBD black, a city-weapon of the city of Amersfoort is painted on front, surrounded by the abbreviation LBD. The helmet retains most of it's original black overpaint, the original green paint is clearly visible beneath the black paint. All liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is a leather liner complete with original liner-cord, the often missing felt protection pads are still present. The leather of the liner is still very supple, there are some normal traces of usage, the liner is in uncleaned condition as found. The helmet looks to be marked and dated with 'CM 1925'. The helmet is complete with it's original chinstrap. There are some normal damages and scratches caused by usage. Great original LBD helmet!
