Russian 'Leaf Pattern' Camouflage Smock
Russian / Soviet 'Leaf Pattern' Camouflage Smock. The 'Leaf Pattern' camouflage pattern was introduced in 1941 utilizing a printed pattern of dark leaves & twigs on a khaki-colored field. Referred to in some period literature as letniy kamuflyazh (summer camouflage). The smocks were designed to fit over the standard service uniform and are therefore quite large. The jacket is showing only minor traces of usage, see photos for details. The smock is complete with its original metal buttons and internal face veil. The smock is still showing strong colours. The smock is showing ink-markings inside showing a 1943 dating. After close inspection the date might in my opinion have been added, so the smock might possibly be from early post-war production. Therefore the smock is priced as being a post-war produced example. Besides the dating there is no visible difference between wartime and postwar produced examples. Nevertheless a very rare and hard to find desirable original Russian camouflage smock in very good condition!
