Description
Soviet Excellent Submariner Badge (Отличный подводник), awarded to submarine personnel of the U.S.S.R. Navy in recognition of outstanding service and professional skill. The Excellent Submariner badge was officially instituted in 1942, as part of a broader series of proficiency insignia introduced for sailors and non-commissioned officers of the Soviet Red Fleet during the Great Patriotic War. This example most likely dates to 1950s production and was manufactured by a Moscow maker. The nicely enamelled badge comes with its original screw-disc. The badge is showing light traces of usage and a nice patina. Rare original example in good condition!
