WH (Heer/Waffen-SS) Tropical Combat Y-straps (Tropen Koppeltraggestell für Infanterie). The combat Y-straps were developed in April 1939 along with the M39 backpack to replace the earlier M34 backpack with integral shoulder straps. The combat Y-straps were also utilized with other backpacks including the A-Frame Assault pack and were designed to assist in distributing the weight of the equipment carried on the load bearing waist belt to the shoulders. With the impending German entrance into the North African campaign, tropical uniforms and equipment were quickly developed and issued in time for 'Deutsches Afrika Korps', this include the canvas web construction tropical Y-straps. The Y-straps are nicely maker marked 'jsd' indicating production by the company of 'Gustav Reinhardt' from Berlin and dated 1941. The Y-straps are in good used and worn condition with normal age and usage toning and light surface spotting and some rust to the steel fittings. Nice and hard to find original Tropical Y-straps in good used condition!

 WH (Heer/Waffen-SS) Tropen Gevechts Y-riem (Tropen Koppeltraggestell für Infanterie). De Y-riem was ontwikkeld in April 1939 samen met het model 1939 rugzak (affe) om de vroegere Model 1934 rugzak met geintegreerde riemen te vervangen. De Y-riem werd ook gebruikt voor andere rugzakken en het A-frame en was ontwikkeld om het gewicht wat werd gedragen aan de koppel beter te verdelen (naar de schouders). Met de Duitse deelname aan de Afrikaanse campagne werd in hoog tempo tropische kleding en uitrusting ontwikkeld voor het 'Deutsche Afrika Korps', hieronder viel ook de tropische webbing Y-riem. De Y-riem is mooi maker gemarkeerd met 'jsd' wat duidt op productie door de firma 'Gustav Reinhardt' uit Berlin en 1941 gedateerd. De Y-riem vertoont duidelijke gebruikssporen en vlekjes en is in een nette staat, er is wat minimale roest aanwezig op de metalen delen. Mooie en moeilijk te vinden originele tropische Y-riem in goede gebruikte staat!
