1930 dated Reichswehr K98 Combat Bayonet with Frog (Seitengewehr 98K). The bayonet is maker marked with 'W.u.K.' indicating production by the company of 'Weyersberg & Kirschbaum'. Complete with original leather frog as found together. Nice set in good condition!

Description

Weimar Republic Reichswehr K98 Combat Bayonet with Frog (Seitengewehr 98K mit Seitengewehrtasche). The K98 bayonet was a standard issue item and was accompanied by a bayonet frog to be worn on the reverse left side of the load carrying waist belt. The K98 bayonet remained the standard issue bayonet through-out the war with minor manufacturing variations. The bayonet is nicely maker marked with 'W.u.K.' indicating production by the company of 'Weyersberg & Kirschbaum' from Solingen and dated 1930. The bayonet is not showing a serial number, there is an early army acceptance marking. The blade is in used and slightly sharpened condition, the bayonet is having wooden grips. The scabberd is not visible maker marked and showing some surface rust. The bayonet comes with its original blackened leather frog as found. Rare original transitional 1930 dated bayonet in used condition!
