WH (Heer) 'Infanterie' Officer's Visor Cap
WH (Heer) 'Infanterie' Officer's Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is a nice privately purchased Officer's example. Complete with celluloid manufacturers sweat-diamond ('Raute'), maker marked with a company's logo and 'Frischluft', the logo 'HPC' is indicating production by the company of 'Hermann Potthoff' from Coesfeld. The cap has no visible size markings, the cap is approximately a size 56. The Visor cap is piped in the white 'Truppenfarbe' (branch-colour) for Infantry personnel. The leather sweatband is in used condition with some damage, see photos. The cap is complete with its original zinc-type cocarde and cap-eagle. The cap is in showing some minor moth damage, the cap has a great shape, see photos. Nice original visor cap in good used condition!
