WH (Heer) Medical Officer's Visor Cap
WH (Heer) Medical (Arzt) Officer's Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is a nice private purchased Officer's example. The celluloid sweat-diamond ('Raute') is missing, the cap is marked with 'Höchste Leistung' (highest performance). The cap has no visible size markings, the size is approximately 54cms. The Visor cap is piped in the blue 'Truppenfarbe' (branch-colour) for Medical personnel. The leather sweatband is in good condition. The cap is complete with it's original applied hand-embroidered cocarde and aluminum cap-eagle. The cap shows normal traces of usage and wear and is in overall good condition, the cap has a great so-called 'Sattelform' shape. There are some tiny moth damages and the cap is heavily discolored giving it a great look, see photos. Stunning original visor cap!
