Luftwaffe M40 Single Decal Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M40). The steel construction M40 helmet retains most of its rough textured, blue-gray paint and about 75% of the decal. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is a M31 leather liner with all eight fingers intact, the leather is still supple, the liner is a size '56'. The liner is complete with its original liner cord. The shell is marked with maker and size 'Q64'. 'Q' is indicating production by the 'F.W. Quist, G.m.b.H.' in Esslingen. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped lot-number 'T706'. The helmet is complete with its original unmarked leather chinstrap as found together. A name has been written in the liner and the liner and helmet are showing the initials 'JW'. Nice untouched original Luftwaffe helmet in good used condition!
