Luftwaffe Single Decal M42 Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M42). The steel construction M42 helmet retains almost all of its rough textured, blue-gray paint and about 98% of the decal. The paint shows normal wear and scratches caused by usage and the helmet shows some light surface rust and dirt and is in uncleaned condition as found. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is a M31 leather liner with all eight fingers intact, the liner is size '54' marked. The liner is complete with its original drawstring. The shell is marked with maker and size 'NS62' which indicates production by the company 'Vereinigte Deutsche Nickelwerke AG' from Schwerte. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number 'D276'. There is a nice dome-stamp inside the helmet shell. The helmet is complete with its original  chinstrap, the chinstrap is nicely maker marked and dated 1941. Nice original late war Luftwaffe helmet in very good, near mint and unissued, condition!
