Norwegian reissued WH (Heer) M40 Helmet
WH (Heer) M40 Helmet (Stahlhelm M40) reissued in the early post-war Norwegian army. The steel construction reissued M40 helmet retains most of its typical tan coloured Norwegian post-war over-paint. Norwegian army decals have are present on both sides of the helmet. The paint shows normal wear and scratches, see photos. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is an M31 leather liner with eight fingers, the liner is size '57' marked. The leather has been painted red/brown, typical for Norwegian reissued helmets. The shell is marked with maker and size 'ET64' which indicates production by the 'Eisen-und Hüttenwerke, AG' in Thale/Harz. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number '5192'. The helmet is complete with Norwegian type chinstrap. These Norwegian helmets are becoming scarce due to the fact that most have been overpainted in German colours by collectors in recent years. Overall a nice post-war reissued German helmet for a fair price!
