Dutch Subaltern Officer's 'Kepie'
Dutch Subaltern Officer's Kepi (Subalterne Officier's Kepie). This kepi was part of the 'buitenmodel' tunic, these tunics were privately purchased tunics in field blue-grey woolen cloth. Soldiers who were not able to buy a complete tunic often bought only the kepi. This is a nice fieldgrey Kepi as inteded for a Subaltern Officer having double golden piping. The kepi is complete with a brown patent leather chinstrap. The kepi is complete with a nice officers quality hand-embroidered cocarde, the cocarde is slighly damaged. The leather sweatband is in good used condition and marked 'Nederl.Fabrikaat' (Dutch made). The Kepi is showing some normal traces of usage and a few small (moth)damage, see photos. Nice original Kepi in good used condition!
