World War 2 Japanese going to war banner (Nobori 幟). Send-off parades were organized for soldiers on their way to the local railway station by community organizations, with the participants carrying banners "nobori", suspended from vertical poles, each with the name of a specific recruit to them. White silk painted banner, there is some small damage and there is some staining on the banner, otherwise fine. The banner is approximately 180cms long. Nice original example in good condition, very decorative!
