3-Piece Medal Bar & Batton

Description

This is a nice 3-piece tailor-made medal-bar ('Spange'), showing respectively a WW1 Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse) having a Iron Cross 2nd Class Repetition Clasp 1939 to the Iron Cross 2nd Class 1914 (Wiederholungsspange 1939 für das Eiserne Kreuz 2.Klasse 1914) attached, a Hindenburg Cross (Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer 1914-18) and a 1 October 1938 Medal (Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 1 Oktober 1938). The Iron Cross is rare one-pice zinc construction cross which can be attributed to production by the company of 'Petz & Lorenz' from Pforzheim, the cross is attached with two drilled holes and a small custom made hook. The Iron Cross 2nd Class Repetition Clasp is a tombak construction clasp which can be attributed to the company of 'Boerger & Co' from Berlin, the clasp is in fantastic condition with full frosted obverse and polished highlights. Unfortunately one of the 4 pins is missing. The medals are nicely period mounted on a medal-bar for wear on the 'walking-out' tunic. The 'Spange' is mounted on a metal-plate with a red woolen backing and comes with its functional pin/catch set-up, the woolen backing is showing (moth)damage. The medal-bar comes with its matching original 'Bandspange' in heavily worn condition. Extremely rare and great looking original set!
