Waffen-SS RzM style Mountain Troops (Gebirgsjäger) Sleeve Insignia, depicting the famous 'Edelweiß' flower. The patch was similar to the green sleeve patch worn by the WH (Heer) mountain troops. The black Edelweiß insignia was worn by Waffen-SS 'Gebirgstruppen', for example soldiers of the 'Prinz Eugen' division, the insignia was worn on the upper right sleeve of the greatcoat and tunic. The badge is nicely machine-embroidered on a black wool base. The badge is in good unissued condition and just shows some minor traces caused by years of storage, there is some glue residue on the back from being pasted in a scrapbook. Nice original SS cloth insignia!
