WW2 US 18th Airborne Corps Patch

Description

World War 2 U.S. 18th Airborne Corps Patch. Activated in August 1944 in England under Maj. Gen. Matthew Ridgway, the XVIII Airborne Corps served as the primary command structure for U.S. airborne divisions in the European Theater as part of the preparation for Operation Market Garden. The corps played a crucial role in stopping the German offensive, commanding various units, including the 82nd and 101st Airborne divisions during the Battle of the Bulge and led the 17th Airborne Division in Operation Varsity, the Rhine crossing. The badge is nicely machine-embroidered having a separate tab, showing a correct wartime white back. Nice original US 18th Airborne Corps Patch in good used and clearly tunic removed condition!
