Prussian 4-Piece Medal Bar to 'Emil von Ernst'
Prussian 4-Piece Medal Bar (Ordenspange) to 'Emil von Ernst' (1817-1905), consisting of a Prussian Order of the Red Eagle 3rd Class (Roter-Adler-Orden), a Prussian War Commemorative Medal 1870/71 for non-combatants, a Commemorative cross for 1866 and a hohenzollern service medal. The rear medallion of the Order of the Red Eagle is slightly loose because the original mounting adhesive inside the medallion has deteriorated; this is not visible in the display and can easily be reattached if desired. The medals are nicely mounted on a medal-bar for wear on the 'walking-out' tunic. Emil von Ernst was a famous artist, he lived in Dusseldorf and is known to have exhibited at the Berlin Academy. He primarily known as a landscape painter and worked in a traditional style. Nice original medal-bar with rare Prussian Red Eagle Order in very good condition!
