Cased Imperial Prussian Pilots Badge

Description

This is a stunning original cased Imperial Prussian Pilots Badge (Militär-Flugzeugführerabzeichen). The Imperial Pilot's badge was originally introduced on 27 january 1913 by 'Kaiser Wilhelm'. All pilots, regardless of rank, were eligible. This badge is a nice wartime period issued example made of hollow tombac (Buntmetall). The badge is not visible maker marked but can very likely be attributed to the company of 'C.E. Juncker' from Berlin. The badge shows very nice & pronounced detail overall. The badge has naturally a functional pin & catch construction, unusual about the piece is that its hinge, catch and pin assembly are for the Juncker two-piece solid reverse version of the badge. This is a wartime produced example. The badge comes in it's original matching case as found together. The case is in good condition with some normal usage to the corners, the box is nicely maker marked by the company of 'C.E. Juncker' from the 'Alte Jacobstr.13' in Berlin S.W. Desirable original set very good condition!
