WH (Heer) Recruiting EM/NCO's Visor Cap

Description

WH (Heer) recruiting EM/NCO's Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is a nice privately purchased EM/NCO's example. Complete with celluloid manufacturers sweat-diamond ('Raute'), maker marked with the logo of the company of 'G.A. Hoffmann' in Berlin, this is the 'Meister-Klasse'. The cap has no visible size markings, the size is approximately 56/57cms. The Visor cap is piped in the bright orange-red 'Truppenfarbe' (branch-colour). This is in my opinion an early Visor Cap as intended for recruiting personnel, this colour changed in 1939 to white for recruiting personnel, from 1940 only Feldgendarmerie personnel wore the orange branch-colour. The leather sweatband is in good condition, the cap is a 'Stirndruckfrei' example. The cap is complete with it's original aluminum cocarde and aluminum cap-eagle. The cap shows two very small moth damages, see photos, other then this the cap is in stunning mint and unissued condition. This is a hard to find branch-colour and would make a nice addition to an early recruiter's Waffenrock. Stunning original visor cap in very good condition!
