Iron Cross 2nd class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse). On 1 September 1939 Hitler reinstituted the Iron Cross (First time in 1813). The 2nd class cross was for award to personnel who performed a single act of bravery in combat. The cross has a three piece construction, the cross just shows some minor wear and great detail overall, the cross comes with its original 14cms long sized ribbon as found. The cross is not visible maker marked. The cross is sized 47mm instead of the regular 44mm. These bigger oversized crosses are called 'Übergröße'. The cross is in very good condition. Rare original cross! This is one of the best 'Übergröße' type crosses I've had on offer!
