This is an Award Document for the Westwall Medal (Deutsche Schutzwall-Ehrenzeichen). The Westwall medal was instituted by Adolf Hitler on 2 August 1939 for military personnel, and civilian employees, who assisted in the planning and construction or defence of the German fortifications on the western border of Germany. This DIN-A5 sized document was awarded to Oberfeldwebel 'Herbert Groth' on 20 March 1940. This document was handed out in name of the 'Befehlshaber im Wehrkreis XII', General der Infanterie 'Steppuhn' and was signed by a subordinate. The document has been folded and perforated but is in overall good condition. Nice original award document!
