Hindenburg Cross for Widows and Parents (Ehrenkreuz für Hinterbliebene). The Cross was instituted in three forms on 13 july 1934 as a service medal for soldiers who participated in world war one. It was also the first decoration created by the Third Reich. This Cross for Widows and Parents was awarded to the relatives of those who were killed during the First Worldwar. The cross is maker marked with 'G9'. The medal is period mounted on a special ribbon for women (Damenschleife) having a safety-pin sewn to its reverse. Nice example in good condition!
