Army Flak Badge 'Rettenmaier'

Wehrmacht 'Flakkampfabzeichen des Heeres' (Army Flak Badge). The Heeres-Flakabzeichen was instituted by the OKH (Oberkommandos des Heeres) on 18 July 1941. The badge was designed by the firm of Ernst Wilhelm Peekhaus of Berlin. Members of flak batteries, sound-locator crews, and searchlight crews in a support role were qualified to earn the award. The badge is not visible maker marked but can be attributed to the company of 'Alois Rettenmeyer' from Schwäbisch Gmünd. The pin and catch are complete and functional. THe badge is showing great detail and finish. Nice original example in very good condition!
