Early Luftwaffe Paratrooper Badge - 'Assmann'

Description

Luftwaffe Paratrooper Badge (Fallschirmschützenabzeichen). The Paratrooper’s qualification badge was instituted by 'Hermann Göring' on 5 November 1936 for award to Luftwaffe personnel who had written the required tests and completed six parachute jumps. This badge is a rare early tombak (Buntmetall) example. The badge is nicely maker marked with the logo of the 'Assmann' company from Lüdenscheid. The badge still retains a fair amount of its original finish and is showing very nice & pronounced detail overall. There is a nice patina caused by actual wear on a flight blouse. The rivets are good with minor tention. The badge has naturally a functional pin & catch construction. Stunning and rare original early Paratrooper's Badge in very good condition!
