Infantry Assault Badge in Silver (Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber). The Infantry Assault Badge in silver was introduced on 20 December 1939 by Generaloberst 'Walther von Brauchitsch', for award to all ranks of non-motorized, Infantry and Mountain Infantry units who participated in three different assaults on three different days. The badge is executed in 'Feinzink' and still retains most of its original silver finish. The pin and catch are complete and functional. The badge is nicely maker marked with 'BSW' in an upside down clover leaf below the hinge, indicating production by the company of the 'Brüder Schneider' from Wien. This is an early BSW type badge. Nice original badge in good condition!
