Kriegsmarine Destroyer War Badge 'S.H.u.Co.' in Box
Kriegsmarine Destroyer War Badge (Zerstörer-Kriegsabzeichen). The Destroyer War Badge was instituted on 4 June 1940 by Oberbefehlshaber der Kriegsmarine und Großadmiral 'Erich Raeder'. The badge was aswarded to destroyer crew members who had participated in the naval battle for 'Narvik' (Norway). Regulations of October 1940 extended bestowal of the Destroyer War Badge to include other destroyer, torpedo, and E-boat personnel involved in other naval battles. The badge is a late war zinc version. The badge still retains a all of its original finish showing showing great detail. The badge is complete with its original functional pin and catch and a stabilizing hook soldered firmly in place which was used when attaching to a uniform to keep the badge from flipping forward. The badge is nicely maker marked 'S.H.u.Co.' indicating production by the company of 'Sohni, Heubach & Co.' from Oberstein. The badge is still stored in its original carton box of issue, the box is in very good condition, complete with original wrapping paper inside. Stunning original set in mint condition!
