Kriegsmarine Minesweeper War Badge 'S&L'

Description

Kriegsmarine Minesweeper War Badge (Kriegsabzeichen für Minensuch-, U-Boot-Jagd und Sicherungsverbände). The Minesweeper’s war badge was instituted on 31 August 1940 by Oberbefehlshaber der Kriegsmarine und Großadmiral 'Erich Raeder'. The badge is a late war zinc example, the badge is showing great detail and still retains most of its original finish. The badge looks like it is having some lacquer layer on top of the finish, see photos. The badge is complete with a functional pin and catch. The badge is not visible maker marked but it can be attributed to production the company of 'Steinhauer & Lück' from Lüdenscheid. The badge is having the typical die-flaw on the back of the wreath. Nice original badge in good used condition!
