Luftwaffe Pilots Badge - 'Brüder Schneider A.G. Wien'

Description

Luftwaffe Pilots Badge (Flugzeugführerabzeichen). The Pilot's badge was originally introduced in january 1935 as an DLV (Deutsche Luftsport Verband) award, the Luftwaffe officially adopted the award on 26 march 1936 by order of 'Hermann Göring'. The badge was awarded to LW personnel who completed the theory and training and achieved their military pilot’s licence. The badge is a nice early example made of tombak (Buntmetall). The badge is nicely maker marked with the rearly seen full maker mark 'Brüder Schneider A.G. Wien', it looks marked twice. The badge has naturally a functional pin & catch construction. The badge still shows the dark finish, typical for BSW badges. Desirable original pilot's badge in very good condition, hard to find in full maker mark version!
