 This is a nice original WH (Luftwaffe) 'Flugzeugführerabzeichen' (Pilots Badge). The Pilot's badge was originally introduced in january 1935 as an DLV (Deutsche Luftsport Verband) award, the Luftwaffe officially adopted the award on 26 march 1936 by order of 'Hermann Göring'. The badge was awarded to LW personnel who completed the theory and training and achieved their military pilot’s licence. This badge is an early war period tombac (Buntmetall) piece. The badge is nicely maker marked with 'GWL' indicating production by thecompany of the 'Gebrüder Wegerhoff' from Lüdenscheid. The badge has naturally a functional pin & catch construction. The badge is in good used and worn condition having a nice patina. A name has been engraved on the back of the wreath "Uffz Solss" (Unteroffizier Solss). Nice original badge!

 Dit is een mooi origineel WH (Luftwaffe) 'Flugzeugführerabzeichen' (Piloten medaille). Het Flugzeugführerabzeichen werd oorspronkelijk ingevoerd in januari 1935 als een medaille van de DLV (Deutsche Luftsport Verband), op 26 maart 1936 werd de medaille in opdracht van 'Hermann Göring' ook officieel ingesteld als een medaille bij de Luftwaffe. De medaille werd uigereikt aan personeel dat succesvol de theorie en training hadden gevolgd en hun militaire brevet voor piloot hadden behaald. Dit is een vroeg oorlogse 'Buntmetall' uitvoering, de medaille is mooi maker gemarkeerd met 'GWL' wat productie aangeeft door de firma van de 'Gebrüder Wegerhoff' uit Lüdenscheid. Vanzelfsprekend heeft de medaille zijn volledig werkende originele naald en haak. De medaille is in goede gebruikte en gedragen staat en heeft een mooie patina. Op de achterkant staat een naam in de krans gekrast "Uffz Solss" (Unteroffizier Solss). Mooie originele medaille!
