Kriegsmarine U-Boat War Badge (U-boot-Kriegsabzeichen). The U-Boat War Badge was instituted by Oberbefehlshaber der Kriegsmarine und Großadmiral: 'Erich Raeder' on 13 october 1939 for award to all ranks of U-Boat personnel who had served on at least two sorties against the enemy or were wounded in action. The badge is made of 'Zink', the badge lost most of its original gold finish. The badge is nicely maker marked with 'L/56' indicating production by the company of the 'Funke & Brünninghaus' from Lüdenscheid'. The pin & catch are of course fully functional. Nice original badge in good used condition!
