Description
Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse). On 1 September 1939 Hitler reinstituted the Iron Cross (First time in 1813). The second class medal was for award to personnel who performed a single act of bravery in combat. The cross has a three piece construction with an iron core, the cross just shows some minor wear and great detail overall and is having a nice darkened age-patina. The cross is not visible maker marked but can be attributed to production by the 'Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Hanauer Plaketten-Hersteller' from Hanau am Main. It is showing a wide frame typical for this manufacturer. The cross is complete with its original ribbon as found. Nice original cross in very good condition!
