WH (Heer) EM/NCO's Belt & Buckle

Description

Wehrmacht (Heer) Belt & Buckle (Koppel und Koppelschloß). On 24 January 1936 this new pattern EM/NCO’s belt buckle was officially introduced to replace the previously worn Weimar era Reichsheer buckle. The basic design of the Reichsheer buckle was retained with the addition of the new Wehrmacht style national eagle. This pattern buckle was worn through-out the Third Reich period with minor manufacturing variations and different colored finishes. The colored finish was determined by regulations depending on what form of uniform it was to be worn with. Nice grey painted steel construction box buckle, the buckle retains a fair amount of its original paint and is showing clear traces of usage. The buckle is marked 'GB-42' indicating production by 'Gustav Brehmer' from Markneukirchen in 1942. The buckle is complete with its original matching 95cms long sized leather belt as found together. The belt is showign clear traces of usage and some writing, see photos. It looks like there is written the name 'E. Höfs' and Fieldpostnumber 49235B, next to it is written 'ist gestohlen, Kameradendiebstahl wird mit Zuchthaus bestraft' (is stolen, comrade theft is punishable by imprisonment). The belt is not visible marked. Nice original set in clearly used and worn condition!
