Scarce original M45 'Leibermuster' Camouflage Tunic (Tarnfeldbluse M45). The M45 Leiber pattern (Leibermuster) camouflage was introduced in the final months of the war and was Germany's last attampt at creating an effective camouflage pattern. The Leiber pattern was completely different from all previous developments by either Army or SS standards. Five different colors were incorporated in the manufacture of this pattern, an important feature was the infra-red resistant design, this was incorporated through the use of Aniline Black dye, which was found to be particularly effective when photographed through infra-red filters.The Leiber design was adopted as a replacement to all existing camouflage patterns within the German Armed Forces. By the war's end only a few small units were equipped in this pattern, photographic evidence shows Army troops in Czechoslovakia in May 1945 wearing both jackets and trousers in the Leiber Pattern. These uniforms were issued to a certain Wehrmacht Army Regiment, I will enclose exact information about which Regiment was equipped with these uniforms. The field blouse is constructed in the HBT cloth in the Leibermuster camouflage pattern, it has two pockets with straight flaps and field-grey finished, aluminum covered metal buttons. This is the only correct type button found on original Leibermuster tunics. There is a five-button front closure using the same type of buttons. There is a lay flat collar. The interior is unlined, the tunic is marked with a RB.Nr. 0/0185/5043 and size stamps, it is a medium size (chest size 96cms). Most likely only production run of these tunics have ever been made. All known original tunics are marked with this exact RB.Nr. and showing the same characteristics. The field blouse is in overall good used and slightly worn condition, see photos. Only a handful "original" examples are known to exist, of course many fakes are offered for sale all the time. Original tunics are seldomly offered for sale on the open market.
