British Airborne/Commando 'Bergen' Backpack 1944

Description

World War 2 British Airborne/Commando 'Bergen' Backpack. These backpacks entered circulation in the British Army in 1941 and were used by commandos and the SAS. Although usually connected with commandos, this type of gear was also worn by Gliderborne units during operation Market Garden. The Bergen type Rucksack looks to be complete with all functional straps and zipps and is nicely maker marked and dated 1944. It comes together with a nice original period brown enamel cup. Nice example in very good condition!

This backpack originates from the collection of the closed Eyewitness Museum.
