British Airborne Fibre Rim Helmet
Description
British Airborne (Paratrooper) Helmet with Fibre Rim. The helmet retains its original paint and comes with an original camouflage net as found together. The helmet is complete with its original liner and leather chinstraps, the chin cup is missing chamois lining. The size '7' liner is nicely maker marked 'G&S' indicating production by the company of 'Gimson & Slater' from Nottingham. The date can't be read but most likely dates 1942. The helmet however is a BMB made helmet as all of these fibre rim type helmets are, the liner at one point must have been replaced. It was however found like this. The liner is showing the expected traces of usage and age as often seen with these helmets, see photos. The Helmet is showing fantastic original paint, see photos. All in all a stunning original Fibre Rim shell, together with an original 'G&S' liner and original leather chin straps. Due to the replaced liner priced accordingly for such a rare helmet. Nice original early British Airborne helmet which will be perfect for a Market Garden (Arnhem) display!
