Waffen-SS BeVo-woven 'Horst Wessel' cufftitle (Ärmelband). Intended for members within the '18. SS Freiwilligen-Panzergrenadier-Division Horst Wessel'. The division was formed in December 1943 and surrendered to the Soviets in May 1945. The division has served in the Balkans throughout its existence, taking part in actions against the partisans and against the Soviets. Woven in grey/white thread on black in the so-called 'BeVo' weave, the back of the cufftitle shows the salt-and-pepper design. The cufftitle shows the woven script 'Horst Wessel'. The cufftitle is in full length condition with typical unfinished ends and measures approximately 45cms in length. The cufftitle is in good unissued condition showing some staining and traces of years of storage. Nice original cufftitle!
