WW2 Iron Cross 2nd Class

Description

Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse). On 1 September 1939 Hitler reinstituted the Iron Cross (First time in 1813). The 2nd class cross was for award to personnel who performed a single act of bravery in combat. The cross has a three piece construction with an iron core, it just shows some minor wear and great detail overall, the  cross shows a slightly darker age-patina. The cross comes on its original confectioned 'Austrian-styled' ribbon as found. The cross is not visible maker marked but can be attributed to production by the company of 'Rudolf Souval' from Wien (Vienna). Nice example in good condition!
