Luftwaffe Officer's Visor Cap (Schirmmütze für Offiziere). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is a late war privately purchased Officer's visor cap, the sweatdiamond is missing, the cap is not visible maker marked or dated. The leather sweatband is in very good condition. The cap is size 58 marked on the inside of the sweatband. The cap is having the silver piping for officers. The cap is complete with its original hand-embroidered Luftwaffe officer's type cap-eagle and cocarde, both nicely period hand sewn to the cap. The cap is showing minimal traces of usage, there are two small moth damages, see photos. Hard to find original Luftwaffe Officer's Visor Cap in very good condition!
