Cased 'Fliegerschützenabzeichen mit Blitzbündel'
Luftwaffe 'Fliegerschützenabzeichen mit Blitzbündel' (Air Gunner Badge with Lightning). The Air Gunner Badge was introduced by 'Hermann Göring' on 26 March 1936 for award to radio operators, air gunners and mechanics who had met the required criteria. The Wireless Operator’s/Air Gunner’s badge was awarded on an individual basis and the main criteria for bestowal of the award was the completion of five operational flights over enemy territory or a minimum of two months active service. This is a very nice late war zinc example in good unissued condition. The badge has naturally a functional pin & catch construction. The badge shows great detail and the badge still retains almost all of its original, often missing, finish. The badge is not visible maker marked but can be attributed to the company of 'Friedrich Linden' from Lüdenscheid. It comes in it's rare original carton box of issue, the carton box is in good used condition, the box is marked with 'Luftwaffe Fliegerschützen-Abzeichen mit Blitzbündel'. These original carton boxes are almost impossible to find. Amazing original set!
