Kriegsmarine 'Schnellboot-Kriegsabzeichen'
Kriegsmarine 'Schnellboot-Kriegsabzeichen' (E-Boat War Badge). The E-Boat War Badge (first version) was instituted on 30 May 1941 by Oberbefehlshaber der Kriegsmarine und Großadmiral 'Erich Raeder', it was designed by 'Wilhelm Ernst Peekhaus' of Berlin. On 28 January 1943 the second version was introduced, it was designed again, by 'Wilhelm Ernst Peekhaus' of Berlin in conjunction with Korvettenkapitan 'Rudolf Peterson'. The badge is a first version of the badge. The badge is executed in 'Buntmetall' (tombac) and shows great detail and still retains all of it's original golden finish, showing polished highlights. The badge is having a complete and funcitional pin and catch. The badge is nicely maker marked with 'Schwerin Berlin 68'. Stunning original example in good, only slightly worn, condition!
