WH (Heer) Infantry Insignia Grouping
Wehrmacht (Heer) Infantry Insignia Set. The set is consisting of an early pair of pointed M36 style Wehrmacht (Heer) shoulder-boards (Schulterklappen), an ID-tag (Erkennungsmarke) and Portrait-Photo, all of the same soldier who belonged to the '1.Inf.Ers.Kp.64' (1.Infanterie-Ersatz-Kompanie 64). The boards are fully textbook and are executed in dark-green wool. The boards are showing the neatly chain-stitched numbers '64'. Both boards come on their functional tongues, the boards are measuring approximately 10,5 cms in length. The aluminum type ID-tag (Erkennungsmarke) is nicely marked with '1.Inf.Ers.Kp.64', the ID-tag is in very good condition. The Portrait-Photo is showing the soldier wearing a M35 Helmet and his tunic with the shoulder-boards, the number '64' is clearly visible. On the back of the photograph is written: 'Meinen lieben Eltern, zum andenken an meine Dienstzeit in Danzig' (Dear parents, as a remembrance for my military service in Danzig) and the photo is dated 4 February 1940. Interesting and rare original insignia grouping in very good condition!
