Luftwaffe M42 Single Decal Camouflage Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M42). The steel construction M42 helmet retains most of its three-tone tan/brown/green 'Normandy' camouflage overpaint, a Luftwaffe decal is clearly visible beneath the paint. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is an M31 leather liner with all eight fingers intact and the original liner cord is present as well, the leather is in good condition. The liner is size '54' marked. The liner ring is nicely maker marked by the company 'B&C' from Litzmannstadt and dated 1943. The shell is marked with maker and size 'NS62'. 'NS' is indicating production by the company of 'Vereinigte Deutsche Nickelwerke AG' from Schwerte. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number 'D274' and shows a painted name of the soldier. The helmet is complete with its regrettably broken original chinstrap.
