Luftwaffe Single Decal M42 Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M42). The steel construction M42 helmet retains almost all of its rough textured, blue-gray paint and about 95% of the decal. The paint shows normal wear and scratches caused by usage and the helmet shows some light surface rust and dirt and is in uncleaned condition as found. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is a M31 leather liner with all eight fingers intact, the liner is size '55' marked. The liner is complete with its original drawstring. The shell is marked with maker and size 'hkp62' which indicates production by the company 'Sächsische Emaillier und Stanzwerke A.G.' from Lauter. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number '2880'. The helmet is complete with its original chinstrap, the chinstrap is nicely maker marked and dated 1942. The helmet comes with its original period applied Camouflage Net (Tarnnetz). The net is made of the correct hemp rope with drawstring, the correct spot welded ring and both small metal hooks, the net is attached with the original wire hooks which are hooked behind the metal liner-ring, see close up photos. This net is original period attached to this helmet and has never been removed. Stunning original Luftwaffe helmet with period attached 'Tarnnetz'!
