Cased Eastern Peoples Award 1st Class in Gold (Verdienstauszeichnung für Angehörige der Ostvölker, 1. Klasse in Gold). This series of awards was instituted on 14 July 1942 to recognize the contribution of volunteers from the Eastern European countries to Germany's war effort. The zinc type medal just shows some minor wear and great detail overall, it still retains almost all of its original golden finish. The medal is complete with a functional pin and catch. The medal is nicely maker marked with number '100' indicating production by the company of 'Wächtler & Lange' from Mittweida. The badge comes in its original black coloured box having a neat imprinted gold logo of the badge on top of the box. The box is showing some normal small damages and usage on the corners and is in overall very good condition. These badges are very hard to find in this condition. Nice original cased badge in very good condition!
