Cased Iron Cross 2nd Class
Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse) in original presentation case. On 1 September 1939 Hitler reinstituted the Iron Cross (First time in 1813). The 2nd class cross was for award to personnel who performed a single act of bravery in combat. The cross has a three piece construction and the cross does still have the neat so-called: 'Hochpolierte Kanten' - just shows some minor wear and great detail overall, the cross comes with its original 29cms long ribbon as found. The cross is not visible maker marked but can be attributed to production by the company of 'Wächtler & Lange' in Mittweida. The cross comes with its original ribbon, nicely stored in a privately purchased type presentation case. The black coloured etui is showing minor traces of usage and is in overall very good condition. Nice and decorative original set in very good condition!
