Cased LW 'Frontflugspange für Kampfflieger' in Silver
Luftwaffe Heavy, Medium & Dive Bombers Squadron Clasp in Silver (Frontflugspange für Kampfflieger). The 'Frontflugspange für Kampfflieger und Sturzkampfflieger' was introduced by 'Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring' on 30 January 1941. The clasps were awarded in three grades of, Bronze for twenty operational flights, Silver for sixty operational flights, and Gold for one hundred ten operational flights. This badge is a late war zinc construction example of the silver grade clasp. The clasp lost most of its original silver finish. The clasp has naturally a functional pin & catch construction. The clasp is nicely maker marked with 'R.S. & S.' indicating production by the company of 'Richard Simm & Söhne' from Gablonz an der Neiße. The clasp comes in its original case of issue. The case is in heavily used condition with some damage, mainly to the corners, see photos. Nice original late war set in used condition!
